To replace the ink cartridges
Use these steps to replace the ink cartridges.
1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
NOTE: Wait until the print carriage stops moving before proceeding.
3. Press the front of the ink cartridge to release it, and then remove it from the slot.

4. Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging.
5. Using the color-coded letters for help, slide the ink cartridge into the empty slot until it is securely installed in the slot.

Make sure that you insert the ink cartridge into the slot that has the same colored
letter as the color you are installing.

6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each ink cartridge you are replacing.
7. Close the print-carriage access door.

When a print cartridge approaches the end of its useful life, the control panel displays a message recommending that you order a replacement. The HP Color LaserJet 4700 printer can continue to print using the current print cartridge until the control panel displays a message instructing you to replace the cartridge.
The printer uses four colors and has a different print cartridge for each color: black (K), magenta (M), cyan (C), and yellow (Y).
Replace a print cartridge when the printer control panel displays a REPLACE [COLOR] CARTRIDGE message. The control panel display will also indicate the color that should be replaced (if a genuine HP cartridge is currently installed).

To replace the print cartridge
1. Lift the top cover of the printer.

2. Pull down the front cover and ETB.

3. Remove the used print cartridge from the printer.

4. Remove the new print cartridge from the bag. Place the used print cartridge in the bag for recycling.

5. Align the print cartridge with the tracks inside the printer and insert the cartridge until it is completely seated.

NOTE The print cartridge tape seal is removed automatically when the print cartridge is installed in the printer.
NOTE If a cartridge is in the wrong slot, the control panel will display the message INCORRECT [COLOR] CARTRIDGE.

6. Close the front cover and then close the top cover. After a short while, the control panel should display Ready.
7. Installation is complete. Place the used print cartridge in the box in which the new cartridge arrived. See the enclosed recycling guide for recycling instructions.

The time to Replacing the Fuser Unit.

Replace the fuser when a REPLACE IMAGE FUSING UNIT KIT message displays on the control panel.

Replacing the fuser unit

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Open the top cover.
3. Grasp the purple handles on the fuser.
4. Remove the old fuser from the printer.
5. Install the new fuser.
6. Close the top cover.

Installing the Xerox Phaser 6200 imaging unit
1. Use the latch on the front of the printer to open Front Door A.

2. Press up on the tab and lift Top Door C.

3. Open the top of the bag containing the imaging unit, then remove the imaging unit from the bag.

4. Pull the four ribbons completely out of the imaging unit. There is a circle printed on the end of each ribbon.

5. Remove the shipping block from the imaging unit. Discard the shipping block.

6. Use one hand to hold the imaging unit by the handle. Use your other hand to support and guide the imaging unit into the printer. Make sure that the rods on both sides of the imaging unit align with the slots indicated by the arrows on the printer.

7. Pull up and remove the protective sheet from the front of the imaging unit.

8. Slowly and firmly close Top Door C until it latches.

9. Close the front door.

Depending on the printer workload, the customer will need to replace the ETB (Image Transfer Kit) two or three times during the life of the printer. To help plan supplies purchases, the HP Color LaserJet 4700 series printer calculates an estimated remaining number of pages that can be printed with the ETB ETB (Image Transfer Kit). The percentage remaining displays on the Supplies Status page under Transfer Kit: HP Part Number: HP Q7504A for the HP Color LaserJet 4700 series printer. You can view the Supplies Status page by printing it from the printer control panel. If the printer is connected to the network, you can also view the page in your Web browser or through the HP Web Jetadmin software.
The number of pages an ETB (Image Transfer Kit) can print is a function of the number of pages that have been printed on the belt.
The ETB ETB (Image Transfer Kit) will come to the end of life when the actual number of pages fed reaches 120,000 pages,regardless of intermittent/continuous printing or paper size.

Replacing the HP Q7504A Image Transfer Kit

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Open the top and front cover.
3. Lower the ETB by pulling the green handle at the top of the unit downward.
4. Press the small blue latches located on either side of the bottom of the ETB and lift the unit out
of the printer.
5. Install the new ETB.
6. Close the front and top covers.

When the fuser unit deteriorates, Replace Fuser Cartridge message appears on the operation panel. Replace the fuser unit as soon as the message prompting you to do so appears. The Brother HL-4200CN printer will stop operating if you do not replace the unit when required.

Replacing the Fuser unit

WARNING
Turn the power switch off, unplug the AC power cord and allow the printer to cool for at least 30 minutes before replace the fuser unit.
Follow the procedure below to replace the fuser unit.

1 Push up button B (1) and fully open the front cover (2).

2 Push the lever on left side of the paper outlet cover and open the paper outlet cover

3 Push and slide forward the switches on both sides of the fuser unit.

4 Lift the levers on both sides of the fuser unit.

5 Hold the levers on both sides as you remove the fuser unit from the printer carfully.

6 Unpack a new fuser unit and lift the levers on both sides (1). Grip the lever and install the fuser unit into the printer gently placing pin into the guides.

7 Push down the levers on both sides of the fuser unit.

8 Push and slide backward the switches on both sides of the fuser unit.

9 Close the paper outlet cover.

10 Close the front cover.

To replace the transfer unit

WARNING! Remove any jewelry or any other metal items from your body to avoid electric shock.
1. Lift the front door handle and pull down the front door.

WARNING! Do not place anything on the transfer unit. Do not touch the top of the transfer unit or the contacts on the left side of the transfer unit.

2. Grasp the right blue handle. Press and hold down the blue button. Slightly lift the right side of the transfer unit.

3. Grasp the left blue handle and lift to remove the transfer unit from the printer.

4. Using handles, remove the new transfer unit from the bag. Use the blue handles on both sides to hold the transfer unit.

5. Place the new transfer unit on a flat surface. Remove the orange tape and orange shipping locks.

6. Guide the left side of the transfer unit into the front door of the printer. Insert the two pegs on the left side into the holes, and then lower the right side into the door.

7. Make sure that the blue button on the right blue handle has released (popped up). If the button has not released, grasp the right blue handle and pull the transfer unit toward you.

8. Firmly close the front door.

9. After the front door is closed, after a short time, the printer control panel displays the message NEW TRANSFER KIT.
10. If the message NEW TRANSFER KIT appears, go to step 11. If the message does not appear, you must reset the transfer unit count.

To reset the transfer unit count
1. Press MENU to enter the MENUS.
2. Press ▼ to highlight Configure Device.
3. Press ✔ to select Configure Device.
4. Press ▼ to highlight RESETS.
5. Press ✔ to select RESETS.
6. Press ▼ to highlight RESET SUPPLIES.
7. Press ✔ to select RESET SUPPLIES.
8. Press ▼ to highlight NEW TRANSFER KIT.
9. Press ✔ to select NEW TRANSFER KIT.
10. Press ▼ to highlight YES.
11. Press ✔ to select YES.
The transfer unit count is reset and the printer is ready to use.

2. 2. Lift the printer access door, and wait for the carriage to move to the access position.
3. 3. Remove both ink cartridges and set them aside.
   
4. 4. Unlatch the used printhead by lifting the button in the center of the carriage.
   
5. 5. Lift the used printhead out of the carriage.
   
6. 6. Remove the new printhead from its bag.
   
7. 7. Remove the two plastic protective caps.
   
8. 8. Place the new printhead into the carriage.
   
9. 9. Push firmly against the target label of the printhead until you hear a loud snap.
   
10. 10. Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead.
    
11. 11. Press down on the ink cartridge tab until you hear a click.
    
12. 12. Repeat steps 10 – 11 for the color ink cartridge.
    
13. 13. Close the printer access door.
    The printer detects the new printhead. Follow the instructions on the LCD to calibrate your printer.

To replace the cartridges
1. Check power.
2. Load paper.
3. Remove cartridge.
a. Open cartridge door.

Wait for print carriage to move to center of the product.
b. Press down to release cartridge, then remove it from slot.

4. Insert new cartridge.
