How to Use EPSON Printer Service Utility 2
Auto Adjustment Perform the automatic Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning, Bidirectional Alignment, or Unidirectional Alignment for coated media. | | - The Auto Adjustment menu is used only for coated media. If you use plain paper or uncoated media, go to Bidirectional Alignment or Unidirectional Alignment to perform manual alignment.
| | - If you are not satisfied with the adjustment, go to Bidirectional Alignment or Unidirectional Alignment.
Auto Bidirectional Alignment | | | Auto Bidirectional Alignment requires a maximum of about 4.5 minutes if each # parameter is adjusted individually, or a maximum of about 15 minutes if all # parameters are adjusted at once. |
| Select the media type you use from the Media Type list box. If you use non-EPSON media, select Other. |
If you selected EPSON genuine media name, the value appears automatically. If you selected Other (non-EPSON media) for Media Type, type the value of the media in the Paper Thickness text box, from 1 to 15. For paper thickness information, see the specifications or contact the dealer for the media. | | | | The units for the value are 0.1 mm. Therefore, you can specify the thickness from 0.1 to 1.5 mm. |
| Set the Platen Gap. Platen Gap is the height from the media loaded into the printer to the print-head. By adjusting this parameter, you may produce better image quality. |
| | | - Setting Platen Gap to Narrow may produce better print quality, but make sure that the media does not wrinkle or touch the print head. Otherwise, the printed document or the print head surface may be damaged. Use Wide or Wider in such case.
| | | - If you selected Other for Media Type, this item is disabled until you type the Paper Thickness value.
